Foams – and in what way they stand out
The material base of all Leidel & Kracht products is foam plastic. Due to a material independence a big range of materials is available for us. Therefore any other material can be used which profits in combination with foam.

Extruded foams (cured)
Delivery form: block, panel, spool
- Polyethylene
- Volumetric weight from 24 kg/m³ to 115 kg/m³
- Compressive strength at 50% from 100 kPa to 900 kPa
- Compression set at 50% from 5% to 27%
- Temperature resistance from -70°C to 90° C
The characteristic properties include for instance:
- From soft and flexible to hard and stiff, light, heat insulating, good resistance to weather, thermally formable, good chemical resistance, close-celled
- Polypropylene
- Volumetric weight from 50 kg/m³ to 250 kg/m³
- Compressive strength at 50% from 120 MPa to 1100 MPa
- Compression set at 50% from 8 % to 35 %
- Temperature resistance from -40° C to 120° C
The characteristic properties include for instance :
- From soft and flexible to hard and stiff, light, heat insulating , good resistance to weather, thermally formable, good chemical resistance, relatively high temperature resistance, good impact absorption, close-celled
- Polyamide
- Volumetric weight from 30 kg/m³ to 50 kg/m³
- Compressive strength at 50% from 150 kPa to 400 kPa
- Compression set at 25% from 8.5 % to 13 %
- Temperature resistance up to 200° C

- High temperature resistance, light, high chemical resistance, heat-insulating, close-celled
- Fluoropolymer foam
- Volumetric weight from 30 kg/m³ to 75 kg/m³
- Compressive strength at 50% from 50 kPa to 350 kPa
- Compression set at 50% from 7 % to 13 %
- Temperature resistance up to 160° C
The characteristic properties include for instance:
- High temperature resistance, light, weatherproof, close-celled, low flammability (UL94 V0)
- Polyimide
- Volumetric weight from 30 kg/m³ to 110 kg/m³
- Compressive strength from 0.4 MPa to 3.0 MPa
- Temperature resistance up to 130° C

- Light, stiff, hard, high temperature resistance, open-celled
