Products that change location during the manufacturing process must also be packaged. The packaging, known as load carriers, is used in internal or external shuttle operations and must therefore meet special requirements.
A distinction is made between:
- Flexible load carriers that safely transport different products from one manufacturing step to the next.
- Customized and tailor-made load carriers that are specially designed for a product and have optional additional functions.
Both have in common that high demands are placed on their robustness. We use high-density foams and/or appropriate surface treatments to create a robust surface. Partially highly abrasion-resistant materials can also be used in the load carriers, or foams with special properties, such as electrical conductivity.

In addition to the robustness and durability of the foam insert, other properties are often required, e.g., no outgassing from the foam or absolute freedom from oil and grease. In addition, we also supply and process foams with special properties: antistatic foams (AS), electrically conductive foams (ESD), and flame-retardant foams (FR).

It is particularly important that packaging used in external shuttle services is clearly marked so that it cannot be lost. This can be achieved, for example, by laser engraving or milling the logo, a label, a code, or similar. We can apply the appropriate markings to both the foam and the transport container.
