Equipment, devices, and many other industrial products require customized, well-designed packaging solutions for safe shipping and storage. Today, parcels are transported under harsher conditions than in the past. Packaging must be flexible and offer more than just a cubic covering for your product.
We are in our element between the outer carton and your product, creating an "airbag" for your product. We fill the space with intelligently designed packaging elements that can have many functions and, if required, also contain space for accessories or brochures.
We use the available space to create a protected and secure cushioning zone. We use the stable parts of your product to divert any external forces away from the sensitive areas. To this end, we develop customized protective packaging that takes into account the material properties of the shock-absorbing materials and
- Dampen vibrations
- Absorb shocks
- Reduce temperature shocks
- equalize electrical potential differences
- enable fast packaging
- economical
Ready-made protective packaging is economical even for the smallest quantities, as it requires little or no tooling costs. Thanks to our in-house cardboard packaging, we can also manufacture the matching outer carton tailored to your needs.
If required, we can carry out a drop test at our premises or provide support.
Whatever you need to ship, we will design the right solution and ensure the best possible protection. Challenge us with your project – we look forward to hearing from you.
Half-shells made of non-crosslinked foam are a proven packaging concept for shipping a wide variety of devices and components. The protective packaging is designed so that it only grips the product at the load-bearing parts and leaves sensitive areas free. In the "worst case," the forces are distributed across the stable segments of the product, preventing serious damage. Compartments for accessories, cables, or documents can be integrated into the half-shells if there is sufficient space. If this is not possible, they can be placed in a separate insert or an additional corrugated cardboard box.
Half shells usually consist of a foam frame with welded struts and brackets. This ensures the stability and protective effect of the half shell. However, if there is only limited space available for storing the half-shells, the struts and brackets can also be designed as flexible folding elements. These are only opened manually during packaging and ensure that the storage space is minimized by flat stackable half shells. The folding elements can be additionally reinforced with film lamination for long-term durability, so that the elements can be opened and closed as often as required. The packaging is therefore also suitable for long-term use in shuttle transport. Furthermore, perforations allow geometrically similar products to be held in just one half-shell.
In many cases, combinations of different PE foams are useful for structural protective packaging. For example, uneven weight distribution of a product can cause it to press more strongly into the foam cushion in some places than in others. The desired shock-absorbing effect of the foam is greatly reduced in these areas. We counteract this by partially incorporating denser foam grades. PU soft foams can also be integrated to protect painted elements from scratches and scuff marks, for example.
When designing packaging for customers, standard cardboard boxes that are available in stock or otherwise readily available are often chosen. While this is convenient, it is neither effective nor environmentally friendly and only rarely provides the optimal space for foam padding. If there is too little space, the contents cannot be adequately protected and may be damaged. If there is too much space, unnecessary material is wasted and the price is driven up.
We take a solution-oriented and efficient approach to our protective packaging designs. First, we develop the optimal foam padding and then manufacture the customized outer carton in our in-house cardboard factory—even as single pieces if required. Depending on requirements, we process corrugated cardboard in quality grades 1.2 B to 2.9 BC.
