14 cyclists, 21 days, 3,250 kilometers traveled—a great result for the first CITY CYCLING campaign organized by the foam and packaging manufacturer Schaumstoff- und Verpackungshersteller
"We believe you can tell people a lot about the benefits of cycling. But the most effective way to convince them is to simply get them on a bike for 21 days." With this in mind, the Climate Alliance launched a competition called CITY CYCLING, and Leidel & Kracht took part for the first time. fourteen employees left their cars at home for 21 days – from June 2 to 22, 2023 – and rode their bikes to work. Together, the Leidel & Kracht team saved a total of 526.5 kg of CO2, rode 3,250 kilometers – 232 per person – and ranked 116th out of 417 within the "municipality" of Cologne. Janosch Bartsch, sustainability manager and team captain at STADTRADELN, is proud of this result and wants to motivate even more employees next year to make it into the top 100.
