Greater complexity. Greater expertise. Components become complex solutions.

Technical requirements are growing, and with them, the challenges facing development, manufacturing, and quality assurance. Whereas individual components used to be the focus, today’s solutions are increasingly complex, combining different materials, technologies, and functions.

Increasingly demanding requirements are transforming the entire company.

From custom-cut foam to the integration of technical components into functional luggage systems: Leidel & Kracht’s range of services is constantly evolving. In particular, the experience gained from challenging technical projects demonstrates just how significantly requirements change once individual components are combined into complex, integrated solutions.

The more functions and technologies are combined in a single product, the more important the planning, coordination, and documentation of all development steps become. Technical drawings, complete bills of materials, material specifications, and traceable testing processes form the foundation for quality, reliability, and reproducible results.

Added to this are regulatory requirements. Depending on the design, function, and intended use of a technical solution, requirements such as CE marking and corresponding declarations of conformity become relevant. The documentation of material properties and ingredients is also gaining in importance. This requires additional expertise, clear responsibilities, and close collaboration across departmental boundaries.

Greater complexity means: greater expertise.

Leidel & Kracht is responding to this trend by expanding its technical expertise and building additional specialized competencies. This includes strengthening the team with qualified employees—for example, in the field of electrical engineering. The fact is: the more sophisticated the solutions become, the more important it is to integrate different disciplines at an early stage.

At the same time, the demands on procurement are changing. New applications call for suitable, robust, and—as far as possible—resource-efficient materials. In addition to quality and availability, technical properties, cost-effectiveness, and requirements for sustainability and documentation must be taken into account. Selecting the right materials is increasingly becoming an essential part of product development.

Digitalization meets individual craftsmanship.

As product complexity increases, so does the need for efficient internal workflows. Digitalization and automation help standardize processes, make information more readily available, and streamline repetitive tasks to improve cost-effectiveness. This creates opportunities for closer collaboration, particularly at the interfaces between development, procurement, production, and documentation.

However, not every technical challenge can be automated. When it comes to custom-made specialty cases and client-specific installations, craftsmanship remains indispensable. Diverse requirements, unique installation scenarios, and complex technical components demand experience, precision, and the ability to find suitable solutions even outside of standardized processes.

The future, therefore, does not lie in an “either/or” scenario, but in the intelligent interplay of both approaches: standardizing where it makes sense—and custom manufacturing where it remains necessary. Digital processes create the conditions for greater efficiency and transparency, while our employees’ technical expertise and hands-on experience ensure the quality of customized solutions.
