City Cycling 2025: Stronger together. Gero leads the way.

The 2025 City Cycling Campaign showed once again that the people at Leidel & Kracht are committed to their work and equally active in sports. From June 11 to July 1, our 14-strong L&K team covered a total of 4,266 kilometers by bike – whether on their way to work, in their free time, or on Sunday outings.

Our Hero 2025: Gero Friedrich.

With an impressive 1,076 kilometers, he is this year's frontrunner. Hats off! The range extended from 44.7 to 1,076 kilometers —every single trip counts. Despite a few rainy days, the mood was positive throughout: all participants were delighted with their personal achievements and the team spirit.

In the city ranking for Cologne, a total of 10,680 participants clocked up 231,976 trips and an impressive 2,221,615 kilometers. Our result is also impressive: in the companies/businesses category, we came 40th out of 170 – a great result for our medium-sized L&K team.

By way of comparison, last year we finished 139th in the overall ranking with 3,250 kilometers. In 2025, we were able to improve significantly in terms of both distance and ranking. This is testament to our consistent commitment and growing enthusiasm.

What is "City Cycling"?

City Cycling is a Germany-wide campaign in which participants try to complete as many everyday journeys as possible by bike in a climate-friendly manner over a three-week period. The aim is to raise awareness of sustainable mobility, save CO₂, and do something for your health at the same time. The kilometers traveled are counted and then evaluated.
