Effective immediately, all chemically and physically cross-linked foam residues will be 100% shredded and handed over to Schmitz Foam Recycling. With this step, Leidel & Kracht is preventing the incineration of over 100 tons of PE material and 260 tons of CO2 annually.
We are delighted to be taking another step toward promoting the circular economy and strengthening sustainability in our company. The new, long-term partnership with Schmitz Foam Recycling will help us minimize the environmental impact of foam and packaging production and extend the life cycle of our materials. Instead of incinerating foam residues – previously the only disposal method available – they will now be transferred to a new production cycle as valuable resources.
This not only reduces waste, but also enables us to manufacture new, environmentally friendly products. For example, recycling foam waste creates high-quality, durable, and safe surfaces for children's playgrounds and soccer fields. Our environment also benefits from recycling: the amount of PE material we send for recycling would generate more than 260 tons of CO2 if it were incinerated, but this can be avoided thanks to our cooperation with Schmitz Foam Recycling. This is an important step toward climate neutrality for Leidel & Kracht and our products.
